Europe Direct Komotini with the support of the Regional Development Fund of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, held a seminar entitled «Entrepreneurship and disabled people», which concerns the business of disabled people with speaker Stamatis Pittas, qualified social worker for people with disabilities - Head of technology for supporting IDEASIS (Systems and Services for High Technology disabled).

Held from 12 to 13 February 2009 the first pan-european meeting of the Europe Direct Network in Brussels attended by over 500 representatives of the Relays and watched live via the Internet (web streaming) be many Europeans.
Held on Friday, 16 January 2009 the first meeting of the new Europe Direct Network (Europe Direct Information Relays, European Documentation Centers and Team Europe) for the period 2009-2012.

For the celebration of the International Children's Day, Directories of Primary and Secondary Education of Rodopi, the Municipal Library of Komotini, Europe Direct Komotini, Youth Information Center of Komotini and the voluntary group for Human Rights and Children Rights organized an educational event entitled “I have got, You have got, He/She has got Rights. We all have Rights!!!”.

For celebration of the “World Day Against AIDS” (1 December 2008), Europe Direct Komotini, Youth Information Center of Komotini and TO.SY.N. of Komotini, with the support of the General Secretariat for Youth and NGO PRAKSIS, organized an initiative street action for youngsters on AIDS, with the central message: “Make the move: Examine yourself”.
DGT's Athens Field Office for multilingualism and Europe Direct Komotini, in cooperation with the Association of Owners Language School Xanthi - Rodopi organized an educational-informational event entitled: “The language mosaic: the foundation of European civilization”.
